Da Nang Pink Cathedral
Da Nang, Vietnam
Cities Vietnam
Da Nang is the Pink Cathedral, the beach, and the river that runs between them. I painted three different versions of this city across two years. The colour palette never quite repeats — humidity does something to pink that no two afternoons agree on.
Da Nang is the city I keep going back to. There’s the Pink Cathedral on Tran Phu, the long beach to the east, and the Han River bridge that lights up at night in colours you’d think nobody chose on purpose.
The Pink Cathedral original is on Etsy as a postcard, and on this site as one of one. The Love Story series — five postcards, our chapters — has a Da Nang Beach as the closing piece. Black Cat and Tiger, husband and wife, on the sand at sunrise.
If you’ve been to Da Nang, you’ll know which painting matches the trip. If you haven’t — the original above is the version that would make me want to go back.
Originals ship from the studio. Postcards, prints, and the book live on Etsy.
